Is your Labrador Retriever the most gorgeous dog in the world? You've probably shared photos of him or her with friends and family, and on Facebook too. How would you like the chance to make your Lab and even bigger celebrity? For the first time ever, GGLRR will produce its own calendar featuring Labs adopted from us. We are asking for submissions for the 2011 calendar, with lucky Labs to be chosen to grace the pages of the calendar, while raising much needed funds for Lab Rescue. If you would like a photo of your Lab(s) to be considered as one of the 12 months of photos in GGLRR's 2011 Calendar, read more about our guidelines and submission process below, review your existing photos or take some new ones, and enter for your Lab's shot at fame!
Guidelines
The calendar will be a fundraiser for GGLRR this fall, and so we want to feature Labs that have been adopted through GGLRR. If you've adopted a dog from another rescue organization or other source, that dog isn't eligible for inclusion in our calendar. Photos with multiple dogs are welcome, but all dogs shown in the photo must be from GGLRR.
All colors, ages and sexes of Labradors are welcome! Since this is a LAB calendar, we prefer to feature dogs that look like Labradors (purebred or mostly-Lab mixes) though we have loved all the dogs placed through GGLRR regardless of what they looked like. We encourage people to use settings showing the fun people have with their Labs in beautiful Northern California settings (beach, mountains, hiking trails, Golden Gate bridge, etc)

You may include as many GGLRR-adopted Labs in the photo as you want, but please no people, text, nor copywritten backgrounds.
Professional photographs will be accepted if submitted by the photographer who can provide GGLRR permission for unlimited usage of the photo as listed with the submission. Please do not use watermarks or other text since photo info and credits will be added consistently on the calendar.
Each photographer may submit up to 6 photos of the same Lab. Please submit as high of resolution as your camera permits (8 megapixel or higher preferred). Photos should only be sent in .jpg or .png format. Photos can be submitted through Saturday, July 31, 2010 midnight Pacific Time. The GGLRR Board of directors will judge the photos that comply with the above guidelines based on 1) overall appeal of the photo for use in our calendar; 2) how the Lab represents the breed and complements the variety of other Labs submitted (e.g. we want to get some puppies and grey-haired seniors too); 3) creativity and appeal of background used included themes to align with specific months/seasons of the year; 4) photo composition, resolution and quality. Please note that you don't need a fancy SLR camera to win, e.g. a point-and-shoot camera that captures a beautiful Lab's personality while playing in Tahoe snow has a good chance of winning one of our winter months! Top 12! The photos selected for our 2011 calender will be featured on the LabRescue.org website with credits to the photographers (including links to any professional photographer's websites if desired). In addition to these bragging rights and our sincere appreciation for donating your talents to help rescued Labs-in-need, we will provide a complimentary calendar to the photographers whose photos are selected when the calendars are available (~September). |
