Chloe: 7-year-old female chocolate Lab ~130 pounds spayed

Background: Chloe spent most of her adult life as a breeder dog for a reputable central valley breeder of Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. Northern California Golden Retriever Rescue found out that the breeder was downsizing and NCGRR found a new home for one of the breeder’s golden retrievers. NCGRR notified us that purebred Lab “Chloe” could use a new home too. The breeder graciously provided us the opportunity to find her a new forever home.. and we are delighted to do so…

What Chloe’s Foster says: Chloe is been a dream. We went for a walk today to the park and it was such a pleasure to be with a dog on a loose lead. She is resting on the floor at my feet right now -- avoiding the nearby comfy therapeutic bed. Like other Labs I've owned, she happily follows me thru the house. When Chloe receives treats, she takes them very delicately and doesn't bite them out of your hand. What a great dog!

What Chloe’s Rescue Rep says: Chloe can be a bit vocal when seeing other dogs, but we sense just excitement to meet them. We believe she is house-broken and crate-trained. We hope to find Chloe a family where she will be the center of attention. Her family will also have to honor her fitness program so she can drop 30+ pounds. She is remarkably agile and active despite her overweight condition. PS. We think she is a water dog…

Medical Information: Chloe is spayed, microchipped, and current on her distemper vax. She will visit our vet soon for a full check-up, heartworm test, and rabies vax. Needless to say, she has also begun her weight loss program (which includes lots of exercise and appropriate nutrition management) to regain her girlish figure…

Chloe is located in: Oakley.

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
