Chloe: 7-year-old female black Lab 54-lbs Spayed

Background: Found on the streets of Stockton, this gal was likely dumped after being bred for many years. She has clearly had many litters of puppies. Time for a life of rest and relaxation…

What Chloe's foster says: Love bug alert! What a sweetie! Chloe quickly learned to enjoy affection and loves nothing better than laying outside in the sun while her foster mom gardens or listens to the baseball game. Chloe is very well behaved indoors and out; not a single accident. She loves her food even though she doesn’t have many teeth left; she likes car rides and soft treats. My guess is that Chloe wasn’t well treated by humans or other dogs and while she is very loving around people she may never get to the point where she trusts other dogs. She alert barks a lot when left alone outside and when people and their dogs are on the other side of my backyard fence. Chloe happily sleeps downstairs in my guest room (she puts herself to bed about 8 PM) and is waiting at the baby gate eager to start her day every morning. Chloe is very petite weighing in at a whopping 54 lbs.

What Chloe's Rescue Rep says: We are delighted at the opportunity to provide Chloe with an opportunity to be the center of attention and care in a new forever home. She can be a bit grouchy towards other dogs, probably a result of being used to crank out litter after litter. We feel Chloe would rather be an only dog. No idea how she would be with cats. She would do great in a quiet home that will give her one or two walks a day. She has few demands or needs… but deserves a wonderful adopter.

Medical: Chloe is in good health. Current on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative.

Chloe is currently located in: Petaluma.

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
