Henry: 10 year old male yellow Lab mix 68 lbs, neutered

If you are looking for a mellow dog who likes to go on walks and is good with cats, Henry’s your guy!

Background: Henry was found wandering around in Pacifica. Attempts to contact and locate his owner failed. Neighbors recalled seeing Henry hanging around for a couple weeks and think his prior owner left and simply abandoned him. How anyone could bear to part with this sweet soul is beyond us. One of the neighbors took Henry in and hoped to make him part of their pack but one of their resident dogs was not happy with Henry being around. So they called GGLRR to find a loving new home for this sweet and gentle boy.

What Henry’s foster says: Henry is starting to settle in and get more used to our home. He is housetrained and has not had any accidents in the house. Henry enjoys using a crate as his comfort place and will sometimes sleep in it. He’s very easy to walk and adjusts his pace to yours. He likes to walk at least a mile each day and will go get his leash and bring it to you if he think it’s past the time when you should have taken him out. He ignores our resident cat and has not been interested when the neighbor’s cat enters our yard. Henry is a bit taller than your average Lab which makes for easy and productive counter surfing – something that we’re working with him on.

What Henry’s Rescue Rep says: We think Henry might be a Lab mixed with Great Pyrenees or perhaps golden retriever. He’s a sweet, easygoing, happy dog who just wants to be loved. Henry was fine living with dogs, cats, and rabbits in his original rescuer’s home and is doing great with the cat in his current foster’s home. Henry would make a great addition to almost any family.

Medical Information: Microchipped, neutered, current on shots, heartworm negative. Has recent well check visit.

Henry is located in: Mountain View

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
