HOLLY 4 month old female black Lab mix 36 lbs not yet spayed

Background: A couple walking their own two dogs spotted two pups off leash roaming around without humans. They sighted a coyote that was stalking the puppies so they gained control of the puppies. They had no collars, are not chipped and were likely dumped. They took the pups home, notified shelters, posted signs and put them on social media. The couple then reached out to Lab Rescue. We took the dogs into our program but there is a 30 day hold on strays in the county where they were found, so they cannot be adopted until 1/19/2022. •PLEASE SEE NOTATION BELOW BY REP’S CONTACT INFO.

What Holly's foster has to say:Holly has not had any potty accidents as she is taken out in the yard every 90 minutes, except overnight. Her days consist of bursts of play, running around the yard, chewing on toys, then nap time.

Holly is a little independent. She will happily lie down away from us, but is equally happy to get cuddles and snuggle. She enjoys being pet. She has a stubborn side, and consistency is going to be key with maintaining a leadership role with her. She also really enjoys using her nose, often spending time scenting. She is adorable! We just gave her a good bath.

She is extremely polite and well-behaved. Sits for her meals. I tell her wait and when sitting nice and calm I put her bowl down. She is a fast learner.

What Holly's Rescue Rep has to say:Holly does well in the crate and sleeps through the night. She rarely barks. Holly has learned to sit for treats. As a young puppy, she is mouthy so any kids in the home should be 8 and up. We are not adopting the dogs together. No cats or other dogs in the home please. Although Holly is a mix, she appears to be mostly Lab.

Holly’s adopter will need to be home most of the time to care for Holly, continue to work on her house training and crate training, socialization with humans, multiple feedings etc. Holly cannot go on walks until all rounds of puppy vaccinations are completed.

Medical: Holly appears to be in good health and will soon be going to the Vet for a wellness check, first round of vaccs and deworming.

Merry is located in: San Jose.

If you are interested in adopting Holly, please email Sandy at 2crazy4dogs@gmail.com and tell me why she would be a good fit for your home. Please leave your callback number.

•Although Holly cannot be adopted till 1/19 per the county, we will start screening and doing meets now.

Please note our service area: GGLRR adopts to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
