Background: Luna’s family has decided it best to find her a new home. They have owned her since she was 8 weeks of age, but they feel a home that can give her more time would be best for her.

What Luna’s owner says: Luna is a great dog and will make a family very happy. You would not guess she is 8 years old as she still has great energy. We have had Luna since she was 8 weeks of age and my husband wanted to hunt with her, but Luna would rather my husband fetch the birds. She is great with kids; other dogs and she lives with a cat! She knows sit, stay, come, drop, leave it off and fetch. She is housetrained but we have her mostly sleeping outside in a doghouse. Luna gets exercise each day but now with both of us working we want to make sure she will get the attention she deserves. She will pull on leash when walking; so better leash skills for her. She loves to play fetch and can fetch for hours. She has been socialized with other dogs and just wants to play with them. She has a very soft mouth and has no possessive issues with her food or toys. She will bark when she gets excited and at times will jump up on people. She loves kids and is very happy around them. She does not like Hot Air Balloons or fireworks. (The family lives in Winters and the Hot Air Balloons go over their house on a regular basis.)

What Luna’s Rescue Rep says: We would love a home for Luna that has time for her and get her regular exercise. A home with kids, cats or other dogs would be fine. We want a home that will bring Luna inside the home to make her part of the pack. We want a home that will work on her leash skills.

Medical: Luna does not have any health issues and has been to the Vet on a regular basis. She is spayed, up to date on her shots and she is heartworm negative. The only issue she has had is a bit of an allergy issue with her eyes; once in a while. She is one healthy girl.

Luna is currently located in: Winters

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
