Video: Pluto and Parker

PARKER 1.5 year old purebred AKC male chocolate Lab 83 lbs (needs to lose ~10 lbs), neutered

Background: Parker and his sibling brother Pluto were purchased from a breeder at 8 weeks old. For personal family reasons they have decided to rehome their dogs. Parker’s owner describes him as very loving and loves to retrieve. Loves to hang around with the family.

From Parker’s Rescue Rep: Parker is a gorgeous boy that greeted me with tail wags. If you start petting him he won’t leave your side which will often lead to a belly rub! He is treat motivated and has a soft mouth. He has lived with his sibling brother Pluto. Of the two dogs, Parker is the more submissive one. There are two children in the house that are seven and thirteen. Parker is housebroken, crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. He’s had basic obedience training and knows several commands. Parker does well with other dogs and goes to doggie day care. Swimming is a favorite and he does well riding in the car. When strangers approach, Parker may bark though he is not aggressive. Any kids in the house must be 7 and up. Daily walks are included in his routine. Parker gets excited when he sees other dogs. He can be leash reactive at times but only wants to play with the other dogs. Parker has prey drive and will chase, especially squirrels, so no cats in the home please.

Parker is still a puppy who needs some training so we would like someone who has had experience raising young Labs.

Medical: Parker is healthy, neutered, current on vax, Heartworm negative and chipped.

Parker is currently located in: Danville.

If you are interested in adopting Parker please email Sandy at and tell me why your home would be a good fit for Parker. Please leave your callback number.

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
