Remi: 4-yr-old female black Lab mix 53 pounds spayed

Background: Remi was relinquished to a good Samaritan when her central valley owner admitted he could no longer care for her. He was losing his home and had health issues that prevented him from providing the appropriate attention that Remi deserved. Remi had been spending most of her time in a small crate at her former owner.

What Remi’s fosters say: We’ve only had Remi in our home for a few days but she is an absolute delight, a real sweet dog. She wants to play with our female cock-a-poo dog, and is just learning how much fun squeaky toys can be. We think she might have some separation anxieties so we have not left her alone. Her previous owner did not take her out for walks or exercise, but we have found that she loves her walks and meets other dogs quite well on leash. She has a soft mouth and nicely sits upon command. When she gets excited, she had a tendency to jump up on you. Loves attention and affection.

What Remi’s Rescue Rep says: What a fabulous dog! Remi gets along great with children and other dogs. No idea how she is with cats. She would be a great family dog. Hoping to land her in a home where she is not left alone very much. She will thrive with lots of exercise and stimulation. Remi pulls a little on leash. Basic obedience training would be very beneficial.

Medical Information: Remi appears to be in great health. Her coat is recovering from some fur loss. Already spayed and microchipped, Remy will soon be brought up to speed on Rabies and distemper vax and heartworm test.

Remi is located in: Berkeley.

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
