Willy: 12-year-old yellow male Lab Mix ~50 pounds neutered

Background: Willy was found as a stray in the Fairfield area and the Solano shelter picked him up. He was not doing well in the shelter and they asked GGLRR to come and pull him. We pulled him and now he is in a foster home.

What Willy’s Foster Mom says: Willy has changed a lot since I pulled him from the shelter. Willy was not doing well at the shelter. He was not able to get up and lying in a soiled bed. He was hungry, wobbly and wounded. I got a call from the GGLRR rep and I pulled Willy and have him at my home and he is doing great! He is ready for a walk, a bite to eat, a ride on the truck, a bite to eat, a new friend and a bite to eat. He does fine with other dogs, cats and people. Willy loves to have physical contact: pats, ears scratched; he is a very relaxed even-tempered guy. Willy is great company; he likes walking but his age limits how far. Short frequent walks ae best. HE appreciates good traction. He is putting on weight quickly; he should gain a few more pounds.

What Willy’s Rescue Rep says: We would love to find a home that will be Willy’s forever last home. A home that does not mind a senior dog and a dog that is not that active. A home that will take him on short walks, take him swimming and give him lots of attention and love. GGLRR wants to find a home for Willy that loves old souls!

Willy’s Medical Information: GGLRR took him to the vet and did a full blood pane, chest x-ray and well check and things came back well for a dog his age. He needs to gain a few pounds. He has all his shots, he is heartworm negative and he is microchipped.

Willy is located in: Fairfield

Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
