Ahsoka: 1.5-year-old female black Lab, ~70 lbs, spayed

Background: Sometimes life throws you curveballs. A disability left Ahsoka’s owner unable to provide the attention and exercise that Ahsoka needs. The owner called Lab Rescue to help find a new loving forever home for Ahsoka. Ahsoka is a wonderful young Lab who will do great with an active person.

What Ahsoka's Owner Says: Ahsoka is high energy and always ready to play. She is sweet and happy and loves attention from every human she has been around. She is confident and playful around other dogs. She is super smart and wants to please. She picked up basic commands like “sit” and “wait” in less than a day. She is housebroken and crate trained. Ahsoka wants to enthusiastically greet people and other dogs when she sees them. She has not been around cats.

What Ahsoka's Rescue Rep Says: Ahsoka is a young energetic dog who needs to run. She would do well with an adopter looking for a canine running companion or someone with a large, fenced yard where she can play fetch in addition to going on long walks. A family with kids 10 or older and a large backyard to run around and play could help burn some energy. Not good for a house with young kids as she sometimes jumps on people to greet them and will chew on items that she finds laying on the floor. Ahsoka could use some leash training as she currently pulls on leash and zigzags back and forth when walking – so much to see, so much to do! Ahsoka takes treats nicely and will let you take food away. She’s fine with being petted and touched though she’d rather be moving around and playing!

Medical: Ahsoka is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed and heartworm negative.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
