Bingo: 1.5-year-old Male Yellow Lab, ~63 lbs, Neutered
Background: Bingo has been surrendered to Lab Rescue as his mom recently returned to work, leaving Bingo home alone, all day. His family wants Bingo to be in a home where he will receive the attention he craves and deserves. He is a wonderful young Lab who will do great with an active family!
What Bingo's Foster Family Says: Bingo is sweet and love to play with kids . He knows to be a little gentler around little kids but he still has a lot of energy. He like to play outside with other dogs at the local dog park. At home he is very quiet just sleeping on his dog sofa or curled up at my feet. Bingo can sleep in the dog playpen all night but prefers to sleep with a person.During the day time Bingo can play by himself or sleep under the sun in the backyard but this is the reason we are surrendering him since I have returned to work, he is left alone. We don't want that for him. Bingo has never shown any aggression while eating to other dogs or people. He still is a little boy that needs more attention and he needs a new famiy who can spend time to stay with him.
What Bingo's Rescue Rep Says: Upon meeting Bingo, I found an energetic dog that seemed a little confused as to where he was as I met him away from his home. I took him on a short walk around a very quiet neighborhood. He pulled and sniffed at all the new smells. He let me pet him all over. He's been raised with two children 4.5 and 2 years of age and is around other dogs when he visits the dog park every couple of weeks.
We'd like to see Bingo with a family where he won't be left alone for long stretches of the day. He's young and requires attention and exercise!
Bingo was recently adopted but has to be returned as he has bolted from the home and the busy streets of San Francisco are not safe. Bingo will need training; he pulls hard on walks especially when he sees another dog; he's not leash aggressive but is determined to say hello and will pull until he reaches the dog. New adopters will need to be able to handle him on walks and Bingo's new home can not be in the city or on/near a busy street. Adopters will need to practice safety and prevention measures in the home to prevent bolting e.g. blocking doors with baby gates. He will need a lot of outdoor time, "decompression walks" where he can sniff and burn off his energy.
Bingo is crate trained and is very good in the house. The only reason he is being returned is due to the bolting. His adopters said Bingo loves to have play dates with their son's dog and enjoys the company of his humans in the house.
Bingo is not your typical Lab in that he is not very food motivated, nor does he play fetch. He is your typical Lab in that he is affectionate, wants to be around people, is good with kids, is active and needs lots of exercise.
Medical: Bingo is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative.
