BODIE: 9 month old yellow male purebred Lab 75 lbs, not yet neutered

Background: Bodie was put on Facebook and was adopted by a family who early on realized he was too much for them and their other dog. They called GGLRR to rehome him. After taking him into our program, we determined he needed much training so we put him in a board and train three week program.

What Bodie's Trainer Says: Bodie’s ideal home is someone that is active with their dogs and good at giving them structure and boundaries. If you like to hike, play, fetch go to the beach or have a large property for these activities he is the dog for you! Bodie has been failed in the past, but is now with a trainer learning on and off leash, obedience! Bodie loves to play ball and is learning to play a structured game of fetch to get all the rambunctious lab energy out. He has also shown to be great with other dogs! He will chase cats if they run but does not show any aggression towards them. He loves kids, but is large and not very self-aware so small children are probably not ideal for Bodie at this time. Another well-trained older female dog would be good to help teach Bodie manners.

What Bodie's Rescue Rep Says: Bodie needs an adopter who has experience training a Lab puppy. He is quite strong and needs an adopter who is strong in strength and in leadership. We want someone who will continue with the wonderful training he has already received. He is not a dog for a first time adopter. The adopter will get to meet the trainer and learn from her. No cats in the home as he will chase and if there are kids in the home they should be teenagers and up.

Medical: Bodie is up to date on vaccs and chipped. Lab Rescue will coordinate his neuter.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
