Charlie Brown Yellow Lab Mix Puppy, Male, ~14 weeks old, 27 lbs
They say “The eyes are the windows to the soul” and it’s clear this strong young pup is 100% love! It’s not every day that we come across a pup with such crystal blue eyes and soft teddy bear jowls.
Background: Good grief, Charlie Brown! This charming guy was among seven puppies found nursing from their mama dog in a "red-tagged" abandoned house in Lake County. Taken to the Lake County shelter for care and safety, we brought them and mama into our program on 23 December. We are delighted to have the opportunity to help them find some awesome forever homes. Mama dog and four of Charlie Brown's siblings have been adopted. .
What Charlie Brown's foster says: An absolute hoot! CB romps and wrestles with his brother Schroeder until they pass out from exhaustion. He is sleeping quite well through the night; lights out around 10:30 PM... with a white noise machine making chirping cricket sounds... He starts to stir ~6 AM. Feeding him three times per day, he is a voracious eater. Still working on his house-training. Charlie Brown wants to romp and play with my other adult dogs. I've been taking CB outside to my yard and he is in heaven exploring the 2-acres of Diesel Ranch.
What Rescue Rep Says Adopting a young puppy is much like having a newborn baby in the home: very demanding for care and attention, can't be left alone much. Eat, poop/pee, play, sleep... repeat, repeat, repeat. Puppy-raising is also filled with joy and fun. Young puppies have sharp teeth and tend to go for human toes and fingers when available. The adopters will need to be home most (if not all the time), have a home with a backyard, and be fully aware of what puppy care is all about. Not for those who are not ready to fully commit to puppy care. Need to have a plan for puppy training and socialization with other puppies. Prior young dog experience is not required but preferable. No other dogs in the home under two years old, please. Cats okay. The employment of a crate and exercise pen (x-pen) will be important too.

Medical: Charlie Brown is in fine health -- growing like crazy. He has received all three rounds of distemper vaccinations -- so he is cleared to go out in public and take on the world. Neutering, microchipping and Rabies vax are down the road and will be covered by Lab Rescue.
