Choco 1-2 Year Old Black Male Lab 75 Pounds Not-Neutered (GGLRR will coordinate his neuter.)

Background: Choco was found on the side of the road in Merced. A friend of a volunteer with GGLRR reached out, as no one was coming to adopt Choco. She met with Choco and said he was such a nice boy and passed all his evaluations with flying colors. She pulled him from the shelter, gave him a bath and drove him to a foster in Marin. (Choco did well on the car ride and bath but we think he may have never had either.)

What Choco's Foster Says:Choco is one very sweet boy and he really wants to please his owner. He knows sit, down and stay. He has excellent leash manners and will walk along your side without pulling. He rides well on the car and has no issues with taking food or toys away from him. He has had excellent house manners and gets along well with my cats and rabbits. Choco has a soft mouth and loves to chew on his toys. We feel Choco has been treated harshly as he will flinch if you move suddenly or raise your hand over his head. He will counter surf and get in the trash if it is not secure. Choco does have some separation anxiety that his new owner will need to work with him. (When you leave him he does get a bit anxious.)

What Choco's Rescue Rep Says: We would love a home for Cooper that will make him part of the family! He is a super mellow dog and learns quickly. He can be in a home with kids, cats, other dogs and other animals. We want a home that will get Choco plenty of exercise and continue his training. The current home needs to work with him on his separation anxiety and counter surfing. He currently goes to work with the foster mom; she is a vet and he does well with all the people and other animals he sees all day long! He is one sweet boy; low key boy!

Medical: Choco is updated on his shots, heartworm negative. He is microchipped. GGLRR will work with the adopter on getting him neutered.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
