COWBOY

14 Year Old Yellow Male Cowboy

Background: Cowboy is currently in the Napa County Shelter

Cowboy deserves a happy ending and it would be great if you could help him.

Cowboy is owned by a homeless man who has drug and alcohol issues; he lives by the Napa river. ( I guess there is a large community living there.)

Unfortunately Cowboy has been in and out of the shelter since June 2013 – 15 times! The shelter has finally stopped the madness and will not allow Cowboy to go back to this person.

His owner will go on a binge and will give Cowboy away or Cowboy will just wander off and get picked up from animal control. The owner usually comes to get Cowboy but this time he has been sitting in the shelter since February 1st.

(The owner has had his daughter help him bail out Cowboy and they feel no one is stepping up at this time. Again the shelter will not send Cowboy back.)

They are treating Cowboy for diarrhea, they have cleaned out his ears, updated his shots and have given him a few good baths. Cowboy is not neutered and has a small growth near his anus. GGLRR would talk to the vet about the growth and if it is ok to neuter Cowboy at his age.

He gets along with all dogs, cats and people. Where he was living there were lots of other animals.

Please note our service area: GGLRR adopts to the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
