DIESEL 2-3 Year Old Black Male Lab Mix 45-50 Pounds Neutered

Background: Diesel was rescued from the Nevada Humane Society around October of 2022. (We think based on the shot records he came into the Humane Society around April / May of 2022.) He was rescued by a college kid going to school in Nevada and he was passed around a bit for a few months. He then asked a friend to watch him over the holidays and said his mother would be taking Diesel. They decided to not take Diesel back and his friends parents could not take him to the shelter. They made some posts to see who would like to adopt him and some of the comments were to contact Lab Rescue. GGLRR met and evaluated Diesel and have decided to take him into our program and find him a Great home!

What Diesel's Foster Says: What a sweet Boy! We think he could be mixed with pointer but we are not 100% sure. We are falling in love with him and are getting very attached. We would keep him if it was not for our cat. We have not known him very long but what we do know is he is: friendly, energetic and wants companionship. He knows many commands: sit, stay, down come, loves to play ball, loves to ride in the car and comes when called. He takes treats very easy, will drop the ball for food, he is house trained and he is crate trained. Diesel is just one sweet boy and just seems to roll with what situation he is handed. He does pull on leash when walking and will jump up to greet you. (He will listen when you say off and with a little training this can be corrected.) He is great with other dogs and would be fine with another dog in the home. We say probably no small kids due to the jumping up and no cats. He is very healthy and is neutered, updated on his shots and he is microchipped.

What Diesel's Rescue Rep Says: Diesel is one sweet Boy and would do well with an active home! We are looking for a home that will work with him on a few things and a home that will make him part of the pack! He is super sweet and is a dog that wants to please! He would be fine in a home with another dog but not a home with cats. He can be in a home with kids but he will jump up to greet; if you spend a little time with him this can be corrected. We are not sure if he likes to swim.

Medical: Diesel is updated on his shots, heartworm negative. He is microchipped and neutered.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
