KOBE 4 year old neutered male chocolate Lab 70 lbs

Background:Hi, I’m Kobe!! Us dogs all have things that we love. Here are my top two. Playing with other dogs. Being pet and cuddling with my humans!

Kobe was initially found as a stray without a chip. He was adopted from the shelter last December to a family but they didn’t have enough time for him so they surrendered him to a shelter.

What Kobe's Rescue Rep Says: When evaluating Kobe at the shelter, we saw a happy-go-lucky active handsome boy. He knows sit, down and stay. He is motivated by treats and has a soft mouth. He is very happy fetching the ball. Kobe let us touch him all over, look in his mouth and even take his ball away. He has good leash manners walking on a martingale collar with minor distractions and is easily corrected. He likes to do the zoomies and this handsome active boy definitely needs a large yard to run. He has tried to jump over the fence so preferably his adopters will have a fence taller than 6 feet or he cannot be left out in the yard alone.

Kobe has excellent inside manners, loves his people, is house broken and crate trained. Does not pull or jump up and is generally respectful of boundaries. We have not heard him bark once.

Kobe went on an outing to the feed store and then he went to dinner with us! He could not have been more respectful, calm and polite. He wags his tail for people but doesn’t go towards them unless invited. He met children and adults and then laid down and had dinner with us. He’s an absolute star!

No small dogs or cats in the home please. Because he is a strong boy, any kids in the home should be 10 and up. We have not seen any aggression at all.

Lab Rescue wants an adopter who will continue with training and setting the boundaries that he has learned, an adopter who is active and strong not only in physical strength but in leadership.

Medical: Kobe has had a vet check. He is healthy, up to date on vaccs, Heartworm negative and chipped.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
