LOKI

Share This Lab:

Loki: 11 month old male purebred black Lab 98lbs, not neutered yet.

Background: Loki was purchased from a breeder by a very busy growing family. They realized that they didn’t have the time to give this deserving boy so they called Lab Rescue to rehome. He was previously living in his crate 8+ hours a day.

What Loki's Trainer Says: Loki is a big, powerful, handsome boy with a puppy like temperament. Loki is a ball of goofy energy and would make a great companion. He is learning to play fetch but does get easily distracted. Loki is highly treat motivated. A huge plus is Loki has been with a trainer for 3 weeks and knows heel, sit, down, come and place along with positive and negative markers to help shape him into an amazing dog. Loki is good with other dogs but is intact so I recommend only socializing him with neutered males and spayed females until he gets neutered. With the trainer he has been socializing with other dogs of all sizes and loves to play. He is around kids, loves to play with them as well but he is big so he needs guidance around kids to keep him calm. This is where “place” comes in handy. You can send Loki to his “place”for some downtime if he gets a little too rambunctious around kids or in the house. Loki’s ideal person is someone that appreciates what a young, handsome dog he is and is willing to put in the effort to shape him into a respectful well mannered boy. He will come with the tools needed to be successful!

What Loki's Rescue Rep Says: Loki is a quite handsome boy and doing very well in board and train. He respects his trainer and knows what is expected of him. He wants to please. Being treat motivated is a bonus. Loki is housebroken and sleeps in his crate.

Lab Rescue wants an experienced Lab or large dog adopter who is strong in physical strength and leadership and has worked with a large strong puppy like Loki. Though he is good with the current kids in the home, because of his size, any kids in the home should be 6 and up. No cats in the home. Loki was previously going to doggie day care and did well with all dogs.

At this time, Loki should be the only dog in the home so his adopter can devote time to him to maintain the wonderful board and train he has received.

Medical: Loki is up to date on vaccs and Heartworm negative. He needs to be neutered and chipped. (Lab Rescue will coordinate.)

Located In: Watsonville.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
