Poppy -- 1 Year Old Female Pyrenees, 50 Pounds and 7 Lab/Pyrenees Puppies, 2 Females, 5 Males

Poppy- Adoption Pending
Yeti- Adoption Pending

Background:We were recently contacted by a rescue in Chowchilla that asked for help with these puppies and their mom. They are an owner surrender from Bakersfield. The mom is reported to be a Pyrenees and the dad a Lab, although one of the pups has a blue eye so there could be some Border Collie or Husky in the mix. The owner originally contacted rescue for one of the pups as it had an injury to its neck that they couldn't afford to get treated. It turned out that the pup had foxtails that had to be surgically removed. The Chowchilla rescue convinced the owner to surrender all of the puppies and their mom as the mom was quite underweight.

What Lab Rescue Says:We are happy to report that all 7 of the puppies and their mom made it to Lab Rescue on July 20 and are being cared for in different foster homes. There are 2 female and 5 male puppies. Mom is being fostered with one of her male pups.

About Mom, Poppy:She is super sweet and a year old. She had some foxtails that had to be surgically removed from her belly and from one of her paws. She is up-to-date on vaccines and has been heartworm tested (negative). We will be getting her in with our vet for a wellness check, microchip, have a look at a limp she has, and also coordinate her spay.

Puppies - Emmy Lou, Rocky, Blue, Bryce, Kasper, Peety: All of the puppies are reported to be doing well. They relied on the company of their mom and littermates until the day they arrived to Lab Rescue where they were separated and moved into different homes. They were understandably a little skittish but the fosters have been doing amazing work at getting them socialized with people, children, and other dogs as well as working on their potty training. All puppies have received two rounds of Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
