Video: Zoomies with Rocky

Rocky, 4-year old male Chocolate Lab, 70 lbs Not neutered

Background: A human baby along with a human toddler are all-consuming for Rocky's adult humans... and they feel it is best for Rocky to find a new home where he can get the attention and exercise he so deserves.

What Current Owner Says Rocky is charismatic, loving. Loves hugs and kisses. Lots of energy. He has been an outside dog, sleeping at night in his doghouse or on our porch. He can sit, fetch, stay... and does not grab treats unless told. In the past, we have socialized Rocky with other dogs at dog parks. He is friendly and playful with small children. He will chase cats.

What Evaluator Says Rocky is a really good dog. Very sweet. Lively, large, energetic, but attentive and affectionate. Pulls on the leash, but not too hard. Takes treats with a soft mouth. Well behaved. Partially trained. Home with older, active kids and/or other dogs would be great. We spent time at a dog park in Fairfield with numerous other dogs, and Rocky did great. He was polite and playful with the other dogs.

What Rescue Rep Says We want to get Rocky into a home where he can spend significant time, especially at night, inside the home with his peeps. Might require some work on house-training. Presence of another dog and kids would be fine. No cats. Will need an active family that will embrace his energy.

Medical: In fine health. Microchipped. Just received Rabies and Distemper (DHPP) vaccinations. Heartworm test negative. Still needs to be neutered.

Located In: Fairfield

Our volunteers donate their personal time and phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
