Video: Bear doing a Down.

Bear -- ~6 years old Male Chocoale Lab 77 pounds Neutered

Background: Bear was picked up as a stray and the shelter called to see if we could meet and evaluate him for our program.

What Bear's Foster Says: He is such a happy guy, he loves meeting all the kids, he's super great meeting all the dogs, he loves his toys and when challenged for his toy he did not resource guard it. He is eating well and is comfortable going into his crate.

What Bear's Rescue Rep Says: Love chocolate?? Here’s your boy!! Bear is a big, active boy and very sweet. Very motivated by treats and when you tell him to sit he does a down! He does a lot of jumping up out of excitement. No resource guarding. He pulls on leash but has been walking very nicely with a correction collar. We think this big boy would love to go on hikes! The shelter put him around other male dogs and he did just fine - he just wants to play! He is living in a foster home with female dogs. Because Bear is very jumpy, any kids in the home need to be 8 and up. We do not know how he is with cats, so we recommend no cats in the home.

Medical: Bear is microchipped, dewormed, up to date on rabies/distemper vax, heartworm negative, and recently neutered.

Located In: Daly City Please note our service area: GGLRR adopts to the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
