Autumn: 2-Year Old Female, Chocolate Lab Mix 60 Pounds Not-Spayed

(Autumn just had puppies so we would coordinate her spay with her adopter.)

Background: Autumn was brought into the Sonoma shelter on February 20th with her four puppies. The people who brought her into the shelter said they found them off Highway 116. GGLRR was notified of the dogs and pulled them from the shelter on Feb. 24th.

What Autumn's Foster Says: Autumn is being fostered by two roommates who know dogs; they get paid to care for Labs! They state Autumn is: Gentle, affectionate and cuddly. Nothing would make this girl happier than a soft bed and belly rub. Autumn is learning to walk on leash and is picking things up quickly! She loves being outside in the sun and is gaining a lot of confidence by exploring. She is sure very Sweet Chocolate!

What Autumn's Rescue Rep Says: Autumn is really a nice sweet girl. We think she can be a mix. We do not think she was abused but she may not have been exposed to much; she can be shy. When you sit with her and pet her, she is your best friend; she would love that all day long! She is learning to walk on a leash and when she is walking on the leash she can pass other dogs with no issues. (She did see a cat and seems Very interested so a home with no cats would be best.) She was tested with other dogs at the shelter and she was indifferent.

She can be crated at night and she can be left alone with no issues; she is not destructive. We have not heard her bark and she has a Very soft mouth. She rode in the car from the shelter with no issues. The fosters gave her a bath and she was very nervous but we think she just has not been out and about much in her life. She let the foster moms trim her nails, touch her all over, look at her teeth and pet her all over. She is fine when you are with her and her puppies. We feel she would be fine in a home with older kids. We are looking for a home for Autumn that has the time for a young dog; can get her out for regular exercise and a home that can be patient with Autumn as she gets more exposure to the world! She is truly one Great dog!

Medical: Autumn has her shots, she is microchipped and GGLRR will work with the adopter to get her spayed.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
