Fosters needed for Lab/Belgian Shepherd puppies
Background: Twelve puppies are currently with their owner in Linden, CA... 10 miles east of Stockton. The puppies were two accidental litters between their female chocolate Lab and their female yellow Lab... and their neighbor's male Belgian Shepherd (the long-haired black Groenendael variety) who jumped the fence. Seven of the puppies were born on 28 June (to the younger female yellow Lab) and five of the puppies were born on 10 Jul (to the older female chocolate Lab). There were originally eight puppies in each litter, but the owner found homes for four of the puppies... so far. All of the puppies have been weaned. The owner is quite overwhelmed with the needed care for all of these puppies.
What Their Rescue Rep Says: I want to get the puppies into foster homes -- soonest. Each foster would ideally take 1-3 puppies. To keep the puppies safe from parvo, distemper, and other terrible ailments, each puppy will be restricted to their foster's home and backyard. Fosters will have to follow certain sanitary/disinfecting protocols (primarily for hands and shoes) too so they do not inadvertently introduce a disease to the puppies. The presence of an existing healthy/vaccinated dog (and/or cat) is fine. PS. We are working with the owner to spay both of their adult female Labs.
Medical: All of the puppies appear healthy and are very active. We are getting all of the puppies to a vet this week for exam, deworming, vaccinations, etc.
If you can foster 1, 2, or 3 of these puppies, please contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net.
