Foster needed for 6-month-old 35-lb female black Lab mix "Roxy"

Background: Roxy was part of an accidental litter between a female yellow Lab... and a neighbor's male Belgian Shepherd (the long-haired black Groenendael variety) who jumped the fence.  She was born on 10 Jul 2024.  Roxy was adopted out when she first joined our program in September, but her adopter finds that human health issues combined with an energetic Roxy is not a good ongoing fit.  Note:  Lab Rescue took in several of Roxy's siblings when they were young puppies and found all of them new homes.

What Roxy's Current Adopters Say: Roxy is a sweet dog with lots of energy.  Not yet house-broken.  Crate-trained.  She spends the day in a dog run in our yard and sleeps in a crate in the garage at night.  We go on daily walks and play fetch.  Roxy gets out to play with other dogs once every two weeks.  Roxy has tendency to jump up on people and bark when excited.

What Roxy's Rescue Rep Says: Roxy is a spirited Pup who wants to run, and romp, and play.  She needs an active home that will provide her with lots of exercise.  She is fine with other dogs.  Chases cats.  Not so good with chickens.  Roxy is still in the jumping and puppy biting stage.  Not ideal for homes with children under ten due to her unbridled exuberance.

Medical: Healthy.  Not yet spayed.  Roxy has had all of her puppy vaccinations and her Rabies vax.  She is also microchipped.  We will work with her foster or adopter to get her spayed.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
