STREAK 7 Year Old Black Male Lab 90 Pounds Neutered
Background: GGLRR received a call as the owner of the two dogs passed away and the family was struggling to find any relatives or friends to take the two boys. They reached out to several rescues and we were the only one to get back to them. They want the best for the dogs and made a promise to the owner they would find good homes for the dogs. (The family also have a close family member in hospice and the boys are not getting the time they deserve.) The family is fine with the dogs being adopted out to separate homes.
What Streak's Caregiver Says: Both dogs have been around a variety of people and have lived with other dogs. Streak is a typical Lab and is very playful. He loves attention and the past month he has not received a lot of attention. He used to be an inside dog and were housebroken but the last month he has lived outside on the ranch. He loves to swim, go for car rides and knows some commands: Sit, down, here and loves to play fetch. He will chase rabbits; so he should not be in a home with cats. He has been around a variety of dogs and has not had any issues; he just wants to play.
What Streak's Rescue Rep Says: Definition of a Lab: Come meet Streak – he is one happy boy! Streak wants to please and just loves attention. He has been well cared for but the last month he has not had much attention; due to the change in the owners situation. He can be adopted into a home with another dog but we would recommend a home with another that that is a submissive dog. He needs to work on his leash skills. He does get excited to see you but he does not jump up on you. He should be in a home with older kids as he may overwhelm small children. Streak has a soft mouth and of course loves food. You can take his food bowl from him with no issues and he will drop the ball for a fun game of fetch. You can pet him all over, take balls from him, take toys from him and check his ears and feet. (You may get licked a bit as he thinks it is a fun game.) Streak loves to run so we would like to adopt him to a home that will get them out for regular exercise and continued training. Streak is one sweet beautiful LAB! We have Streak in a boarding facility and he is doing well. He is clean in his kennel and gets out to play with other dogs on a regular basis. They facility loves having him there.
Medical: Streak has not had any medical issues and he is updated on his shots, he is microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative.
