Bubble 3-Year Old Female Black Lab, ~70 lbs, Spayed
Background: he owner is rehoming Bubble due to no longer having the time for her with work and caring for two small children. She knows Bubble deserves more than she can currently provide. Bubble has been well taken care of and will need some basic obedience training as she gets excited when she sees new people and tends to jump. She also is a big puller on the leash! She is friendly but can get excited and jumpy when seeing new faces. With our family, she is calm and good with our kids. Our 2 year old has been playing with her since she was an infant. A few of my 7 year old's friends have felt intimidated due to her jumpy nature. Like many Labradors she will chew on toys and small objects when she gets bored for long periods. She is trained not to go on the couches or on the human beds. Whenever we’ve had other dogs over, she has been friendly and has had a good time. She is also good in the car. She is a quiet dog in general, but can bark to let you know she is hungry, or to let you know someone is at the door. When I am alone at the house, I feel safer at night because of Bubble.
What Bubble's foster says: Bubble is a very friendly and happy girl. She is house trained completely and sleeps on her dog bed in my bedroom at night. She loves meeting people and other dogs. Bubble is making progress with a training collar and learning not to jump when she gets excited.
She will benefit from additional training on recall and other commands besides sit. Fortunately, she is very treat motivated and wants to please. If Bubble gets good exercise a couple of times each day, she will sleep though the night. Bubble will alarm bark if she hears someone at the door but does not continue barking. Bubble would benefit from an active family or person who is around often. She is such a happy girl, showing no aggression, but would probably do better with kids over 5. She has been left alone for a few hours at a time and is not destructive. Bubble is a healthy, loving dog with a beautiful black coat that will make a great companion.
What Rescue Rep Says Upon meeting Bubble, I found a very friendly dog, eager to meet and jump on me. Her family said she gets excited meeting new people and tends to jump on them. She allowed all over handling. She is a strong dog and a pretty intense puller on the leash; she will require leash training and a person steady on their feet. She grew up around her two human siblings 2 and 7, and when I went to meet her, her brother had some friends over and Bubble was happy to be by them while they were all sitting at the kitchen table. She is house trained and enjoys car rides. She is reported to chew on the children's toys if given the opportunity. She likes other dogs, people, and children. She has not been around cats.
We'd like to see Bubble with a family where she won't be left alone for long stretches of the day and one where she can be out and about on family walks and adventures. She's young and requires someone who can work with her and has the ability to manage her strength (pulling on walks), a family that give her lots of attention, love, and exercise!
Medical: Bubble is spayed and is up to date on core vaccines of Rabies and DHPP, as well as heartworm tested (negative) and microchipped.
