Maisie, 12 to 18 months old black lab mix, 35 lbs, Spayed

Background: Maisie was found as a stray in Stanislaus County and was scheduled to be euthanized. At the shelter she was very fearful, cowering in her kennel. A good Samaritan notified us of the situation and we worked with the shelter to pull her and quickly get her to a foster.

What Maisie's foster says: Maisie is an adorable young Lab mix, just over a year old and weighing about 35 pounds. She’s a sweet, loving, and gentle girl with a fun, energetic spirit. Maisie already knows how to sit and come, and she’s crate-trained and appears to be potty-trained too—what a smart pup!

Maisie loves to cuddle, give kisses, and roll over for belly rubs. She’s doing great with our nine-year-old resident dog and takes correction well and quickly—she really wants to please.

Maisie is ready to bring her joyful personality and affectionate nature to a forever family of her own. Whether you’re up for playtime or just want a snuggle buddy, Maisie will happily be by your side.

What Maisie's Rescue Rep Says: Maisie is a petite, sweet lab mix. After getting to her foster home she has really blossomed and is beginning to show her true personality. She loves being pet and can be handled all over. She also does well meeting other dogs. We're not sure about cats. Being so young, she will need some help with basic obedience and walking on leash but seems to be learning quickly.

The ideal home for Maisie will be one where she isn’t left alone for long hours, has a yard to do her zoomies, and gets plenty of exercise and attention. She’d do well with a canine companion and with older children as she can be a bit mouthy and is not used to small kids/toddlers.

Medical: Maisie is a healthy young pup. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
