Oreo 2-year-old male black Lab mix 65-lbs Neutered
Background: Recovered from a backyard in Richmond with another dog by volunteers from Paw Fund (https://pawfund.org/), Oreo apparently lived a very isolated life with minimal contact with other dogs or people.
What Oreo's Foster Says: Oreo, a young black lab with a sweet creamy streak on his chest and a white speckled sock on his front paw, is very sweet and looking for loving family. He is a busy young boy, interested in learning and exploring the world. He has adjusted quickly to living in our house with our 9-year-old lab. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is house trained. Oreo wants to please his people and is very attentive. He loves to get lots of pets! Oreo does lick you a bit when he wants attention and can be jumpy when he first meets people and gets excited. He enjoys a daily morning ride in the car to the dog park where he can walk, run, sniff and meet other dogs. He seems to get along fine with everyone he meets. Oreo has playtime with a ball or other toys in the yard every afternoon and a short neighborhood leash walk before dinner. His leash skills need some work but his recall is developing pretty quickly. He knows sit and is ready to learn other basic commands. In the house he likes to have a variety of authorized chew toys to keep him busy. With some basic training and a reliable daily exercise routine, Oreo will be a happy and well-mannered pup!
What Oreo's Rescue Rep Says: We are just learning about Oreo's behavior and personality. We believe he would do great in an active home. Presence of another dog and/or kids would be fine.
Medical: Oreo is in fine health. Current on vaccinations, neutered, and chipped. Heartworm test pends.
