Saoirse 5-month-old female black Lab 35-lbs Not yet spayed
Background: This lovely purebred Lab came from a breeder at 8 weeks old and recently joined a local no-profit that trains service dogs. Unfortunately, Saoirse (pronounced "sir-shuh") suffered a sudden illness or injury that resulted in her having difficulty walking on her front legs. A vet visit was unable to determine the cause of the affliction, and Saoirse soon regained the ability to walk on her front legs and continues to recover. All tests were unable to determine the root cause of the affliction. Given this health issue, the non-profit felt she was not an ideal candidate for continuing their service dog training program and they reached out to us to find her a new home.
What Saoirse's Foster Says: Saoirse is such a sweet girl. She’s happy joyful and eager to befriend all people and dogs she meets. She has amazing social skills for such a young pup. She’s so fun to play with and also ready to relax when I am. She follows me from room to room, loves playing in the hose water and is always ready for a belly rub. She’s eager for walks checking out everything along the way. She has not yet learned to heel or walk without pulling but I’m sure she will be a quick learner. She is potty trained – no accidents in the house! If I was ready for a new dog I would keep her in a heartbeat. She is special.
What Saoirse's Rescue Rep Says:Saoirse appears to be recovering from her affliction. Would do fine in a home with another dog and/or children. Crate-trained. House-trained. Knows some basic commands. Saoirse has never been around cats. Loves to play and romp.
Medical: Saoirse seems to be rebounding to whatever ailed her. We may never know what caused the issues with her front legs. Current on vaccinations. Not yet spayed. Microchipped. Heartworm test pends. We will get Saoirse to our vet for a full check-up but her recovery from the mystery illness continues and we hope there is no relapse.
