Skye and Starry: 6 year-old male chocolate labs, 75-80 pounds, neutered

Background: Skye and Starry are brothers and have been together since they were pups. Their family is heartbroken to have to part with them due to an unexpected move. They describe these two as loyal, loving companions. While they’ve always been together, their family believes they could adjust to separate homes.

What the owner says: Starry is a gentleman. If I’m pouring his food or opening the door for him to go outside and he thinks he’s in the way he’ll move to give me space. He's loving and affectionate with an energetic personality, but does not like fireworks.

Skye could be petted all day if it was up to him. He's also very loving and affectionate and wants to cuddle. He has a more calm and relaxed personality.

What Rescue Rep Says What makes Skye and Starry so special:
🐾 Friendly & Affectionate – These boys love people and soak up all the pets and attention they can get!
🐾 Great with Kids & Cats – They currently live with a cat and have been wonderful around their owner’s grandchild since she was six.
🐾 Well-Mannered at Home – House trained and have no issues being left alone in the house.
🐾 Smart & Trainable – They already know commands like "sit," "down," and "come" but will need some work on their leash manners.
🐾 Dog Social with Proper Introductions – Skye is polite and curious around other dogs, while Starry is a little more vocal and may need a slow introduction.

Their Ideal home:
✔ A loving family that won’t leave them alone for long stretches.
✔ A yard where they can run, play, and burn off energy.
✔ Regular exercise and experienced dog handler who can manage their strength on walks and refine their leash skills.
✔ A home with children over six and possibly a friendly cat would be ok.
✔ If they are adopted separately, another dog in the home could ease the adjustment into their new lives.

Skye and Starry are still young, full of energy, and love to play—especially with a soccer ball! But after some fun, they settle down easily on their beds for a cozy nap. Whether adopted together or separately, they will make wonderful companions for the right family.

Medical: Skye and Starry are in good health, neutered and up to date on all their vaccines and preventatives.

Our volunteers donate their personal time and phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
