Yogi, 3-year old intact male chocolate Lab, 75 lbs

Background: Yogi showed up as a stray in front of his current guardian’s home in Pacifica. The finder notified the local animal control, made "found dog" postings online, and posted flyers in the neighborhood. After several months of actively searching for an owner, no one has come forward to claim him, so Yogi’s finder is fostering Yogi for GGLRR while we find Yogi a new forever home.

What Yogi’s finder/foster Says: Yogi is the most loving, mellow, and sweetest soul of any dog that I have ever known. He seems to be very smart and will train easily. We love him with all our heart and just want what is best for him. We want a home filled with LOVE for Yogi and a family that is able to provide him with more of the activities that I am not capable of giving to him.

What Yogi's Rescue Rep Says: Yogi is a sweet, gentle, and loving dog. This soulful dog will melt your heart. He does well with the finder’s resident dog and is tolerant when the other smaller dog is not always the nicest to him. He did well when the finder’s grandchildren, ages 4 and 7 came to visit. He knows “sit” and “come” commands and has been ok when left home alone with in/out access. He will need some training to learn not to jump on people when he is excited to see them, and to not pull on leash. He does not guard resources. He’s friendly with other dogs, but also gets excited and barks when he sees other dogs that he wants to meet while on leash. His finder loves him dearly and has taken great care of him but he’s a larger dog than she really wants to have long term. Yogi is a really wonderful dog and will be a blessing to the lucky family that he chooses for his forever home.

Medical: Yogi is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has a recent negative heartworm test. GGLRR will coordinate his neuter with the adopter.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
